With so much to do from activities to sitting back and watching the wildlife it's hard to choose. The tranquility of your surroundings is hard to beat.

Things to do

The nearest beach (pictured) can be see from the tent and is 5km away at Fuzeta. It is also possble to take a short ferry trip to Armonha island from here. Praia Barill is a 10 minute drive and can be reached via a small train or by foot from Pedras d'el Rei. Tavira island also has a fine beach that can be reached by ferry. From Olhao you can acces  the islands of Culatra, Farol and Armonha

Ria Formosa Natural Park can been seen from the tent. It is mostly a lagoon system stretching for 60 km along the Algarve coastline and encompassing18,000 hectares. It encloses a vast area of marshland and salt pans, creeks and dune islands. The marshes are an important area for migrating and nesting birds. you can see a  variety of wetland birds here, along with ducks, shorebirds, gulls and terns. You'll find find some of the Algarves quietest and largest beaches on the sandbank islands one of which Ilha da Armonha can be reached by ferry from Fuzeta.

​Carnival Held in late February or early March at Moncarapacho or Loule.

​Festival de Cidade​ Held in Tavira on the 23 & 24th of June.

Festival Med​ www.festivalmed.com held in Loule in late June.

Festival do Marisco Held in Olhao on the second weekend of August.

Feira Medieval​ The last weekend in August at Castro Marim Castle.

There are mony more smaller events every weekend during the summer period.

Relax and enjoy. There are various holistc and spa facilities around to help you to relax while you are here. There is a natural pharmacy in Moncarapacho and an organic shop that sells fruit and vegetables etc to help keep you in tip top condition.​

The Algarve is packed with loads of attractions for kids, family freindly beaches and cultural activities Try thrilling water parks a great zoo near lagos castles at Castro Marim and Silves in Sao Bras there's a simple cork display in the Museu Etnografico do Trajo Algarvio In Portimao the Museu de Portimao rom Fuzeta and Olhao there are many boat trips. At Praia do Barril the beach can be reached via a small train. There is horse riding at Tavira and Moncarapacho.  At Estoi you can view the ruins of an grand Roman villa at the Milreu ruins. You can also try body boarding, wind surfing , kite buggying and kit boarding. and lots more!

Wildlife

As we overlook the Ria Formosa national park it encloses a fast area of wetland,salt pans,creeks and dune islands. The marshlands is an area for migrating and nesting birds you can see a hugh variety of birds, ducks, shorebirds. At the tent you can regularly view eagles, little owls, African bee eaters and much more. In September you may  be lucky  to see chamelons as they come out of bushes and trees to mate. Rabbits and hares are also abundant here.
